Mangalore is a famous city situated in Karnataka. It is famous for some quality educational institutions in the field of medicine and engineering. There are many famous hospitals here and people from many parts of the country come here for good affordable treatment. The property prices here were cheap compared to other places a couple of years back, but the wave of development has hit this town as well. Real Estate Mangalore is on a high now.
The realty prices here too have increased There are now malls, multiplexes and restaurants coming up in this area. This read right now has the perfect mix of modernity and village life. Even though new buildings and apartments are rising slowly, it is still a good place to build independent houses and bungalows. Air Conditioners – It is advisable to have air conditioners in your house. Air conditioners can provide a relief from the scorching heat. But cooling systems emits a lot of carbon dioxide which is harmful to the environment and in turn increases the overall temperature of the earth. They also emit Sulfur dioxide which is the prime cause of acid rain. So while air conditioners provide us with instant relief, they cause a lot of damage to the environment. Additionally Air conditions take up huge power and this will reflect in you electricity bill each month. So one can definitely consider this option, but while building your house, we can do a few changes to ensure that you house in Mangalore has a cool clean climate.
Insulation- While constructing the house insulation is another way. The heat enters mostly through the roof. If your house has an attic than insulating the attic floor is a good idea. Insulation can be easily carried out by your contractors.
House Paint– While choosing the color of your house, never go for dark colors. Dark colors absorb light, while light colors reflect light. Another way of keeping away heat is installing radiant barriers on the inner side of the roof.
Plants- Plants are the best way to keep the air around you clean and cool. Place them correctly according to the location of your house. Try planting deciduous trees as they provide shade in summer months and during winter they allow the light to pass through. Other vines like money plant etc also help in keeping your house cool in the summer heat. Also add shrubs to your garden and keep them close to the house. They will help block the sunlight from hitting the lower portion of your house.
Curtains and Drapes- While large windows help in ventilation, it is important to use light colored curtains and drapes for your home. These will reflect most of the incident light.
Ceiling Fans- Invest in good ceiling fans and locate them at all necessary parts of your house. If any room in the house is large, it might require two to three fans. Ceiling fans are cost effective. They are much cheaper than your Air Conditioners and don’t harm the environment as much. Plus they are available in various designs to enable your house look the way you want.
