There aren’t many things in today’s world that you can’t simply walk in and purchase off the shelf. A front door, however, isn’t one of those things. A beautiful front door has countless combinations regarding material, including different glass types and exterior styles. It’s best to take a close look at your interior space and the architectural style of your home as well as your overall décor in order to best choose the ideal door for your home. Here are four attractive front door options that will beautifully accent the look of your home.

1. Double Arched Mahogany

Solid, arched-top mahogany front doors are supremely rich since they’re both elegant and earthy all at the same time. They’re the ideal complement to intricate stonework on the façade of a stately home. Keep in mind that double doors are basically two doors that are combined into one unit.

2. Single French Doors

A single glass-paned French door from places like Moncada Windows Doors & Siding is a great option if you want to allow more light to filter through the entryway. And from a decorating perspective, they perfectly blend with virtually any architectural style, including everything from contemporary to traditional.

3. Double Hinged Doors

These special doors offer the striking look of French doors while letting both doors fully swing open, which provides a huge opening minus the center strip in-between each door. These doors are often used in classic beachfront style homes since they allow full views of beautiful sandy beaches and the scenic ocean outside.

4. Triple and Quad Doors

Triple or quad doors consist of three or four doors that usually include both stationary and operable doors. They can be arranged to either open like patio or French doors or on a center hinge. These kinds of doors are well-suited for a considerably large home with over-the-top elegance.

Other Door Customizations

Once you’ve chosen the type of front door you want to incorporate into your home, there are several other details for you to consider in order to enhance the overall look of your new entry door.

  • Transoms and Sidelights

Most entryway doors can be installed with transoms (separate window above the door) or special sidelights (separate windows on either side of the door) that attach to the front door unit.

  • Door Glass Options

Before you choose your new front door, you need to first consider how much privacy the door should offer and just how much natural light you wish to let permeate into your entryway space. Obviously, more glass means more light.

Still not sure which door is right for you? Take a drive through your own neighborhood and look at all the different doors, some of which may include various transom styles and sidelights as well as interesting paint colors and stains. This will get your creative juices flowing so you can make some ideal choices for your own front door.
